Civil architecture is largely expanding in Campinas. A positive factor is the relatively low taxes for lands. Thus, there are good opportunities for real state businesses in all industrial, commercial and residential sectors.

COSMOPOLITAN VOCATION - Campinas is one of the main national poles of congresses in businesses, health, sports, media and education areas, among others. Around six thousand events are carried out per year with an average of two million participants. In 2006, according to the International Congress and Convention Association, Campinas was the sixth Brazilian city in events ranking.

In 2008, a new event was added to city calendar. This is the Sustain Project, whose purpose is to promote interchange of scientific and technological information concerning economic, ecological, social, cultural and ethical sustainability of Latin American cities. Campinas also hosted the 126th Foreign Trade Meeting (Encomex), which gathered business men from the whole country interest in enlarging their participation in foreign trade. Besides this, municipal events calendar also includes cultural and craftsmanship fairs, music and theater festivals and Italian, Portuguese, American, French, Spanish and Japanese communities events.

Although it is only 96 km far from São Paulo, the largest economic pole in the country, Campinas is a city with its own strength. This is evidenced by the presence of several foreign representations in the city: eight consulates, three representation offices and two chambers of commerce. Campinas is also a membercity of Mercocidades network (cities from Mercosur) and has sister-cities spread all over the world.

ADMINISTRATION COMMITED WITH DEVELOPMENT - At the same time it adopted a series of mechanisms to make public management more efficient, Campinas Public Administration has also created several incentive laws for enterprises interested in enlarging their businesses or to be installed in the city. As a result of this, Campinas could assure a favorable environment for domestic and foreign investors, attracting several companies and allowing employment market growth.
